U.S. Surgeon General Carmona Visits APL
ADM Carmona spoke about his role in Government and how his background as
both a Hispanic and career military man has influenced his policy-making decisions.
An awareness and accommodation of the social factors in health care are as
important as the science and technology available today to heal people. He
emphasized culture and ethnicity should not be neglected in establishing policy
and treating disease.
